UGL is a very diverse business with more than 100 locations across Australia. Initially making contact with Time & People to provide a visitor management solution to head office in Sydney. Refurbishment of the building is what triggered the initial inquiry. During the initial demonstration of the Visitor Management software UGL were impressed and surprised at the depth of the Visitor Management module compared to the traditional visitor management book.
In the second demonstration we demonstrated to the senior management team as the discussions continued it became clear other locations in the UGL network could benefit from the software and as we started to dig deeper into other modules including contractor, induction, qualifications, evacuation and more it became clear that every single location nationally for UGL could benefit with the introduction of the software.
Many systems on the market today fall short for large corporation’s and their needs nationally or globally!
The further we dug into the depth of the software and how it is helping other companies like Unilever, ALS Global, 3M, Johnson & Johnson, Church & Dwight, Kimberly Clark and hundreds more the more the UGL team started to see how they could centralise and report on many aspects of the business that was currently not centralised.
As quickly as the Visitor Management systems were being addressed at head office in Sydney, the same was put in place in Melbourne at Southbank. An industrial Melbourne location in Spotswood needed assistance not just with visitors but also with contractors, the location a locomotive maintenance site needed the ability to produce excellent detailed reports on contractors and manage qualifications for the contractors in a better way to move away from spreadsheets.
Knowing who is onsite for evacuation is very important
Each location has a kiosk that includes a bar code scanner to allow visitors to scan out quickly when they leave and an RFID reader programmed to to the access control cards for the location. Head office in Sydney and Melbourne selected the corporate kiosk while Spotswood has selected a more economical kiosk suited to the size of the location.
